Target Niches, Adult Content & Mainstream Marketing
Background: Adult Marketing & The Rest of The World
When it comes to marketing, search engine optimization and web design, it seems there is ADULT and the rest of the world. There appears to be no real correlation and there are many mainstream marketers who make fun of “supposed adult online/SEO marketers.” They don’t take us seriously and think that the only SEO & marketing techniques we are privy to are link scams and black hat techniques. Well that is not true.
Standards: Adult Marketers Define New Online Marketing Strategy
There are marketers, such as myself, that do not come from strictly adult backgrounds. We are successful mainstream marketers and have advanced degrees in business, design and entertainment. We have refined our design and marketing approaches to become the culmination of our adult & mainstream skills. By utilizing a holistic approach to our marketing strategy, we are redefining what adult marketing is and we are now setting the standards for how mainstream marketers conduct campaigns. Porn is no longer just porn, its adult entertainment with many different outlets. There is erotic film made by women for women and there is specialized “kink” that caters to specific fetishes. Those mediums don’t fall under the traditional definitions of porn and they are not sub-sects or off-shoots of it. They are their own form of adult entertainment. Mainstream marketers have always used sex to sell products. You want to be accepted, you want to be hip, beautiful and desired? BUY THIS? Ummm - where did they ever get that idea that sex sells? Most of the sexual concepts or undertones in advertisements today are taken straight from adult content.
read comments (0)A Review of EscortSite.com
I will keep this short and sweet. I have learned through the webmaster grapevine that The Erotic Review and BigDoggie.net are going to be banning all websites in the Rare-Escorts.com group. For the past few weeks, I have seen advertising on Date-Check, BigDoggie and a plethora of other sites for EscortSite.com, a highly customizable “free” escort web hosting service. . EscortSite.com is not something new, it is actually owned and developed by the RARE-ESCORTS conglomerate to step up their appeal. While Some people love them, but I don’t. I created a fake test site and played around with it awhile, just to see how great it would actually be. But to my dismay, it was just a better interface for the same crappy site. Here are my complaints:
The Writing Process
Wow - writing this blog is a process at times. Not because I don’t enjoy it or it’s hard, but because of all thoughts that come flooding into my mind when I find a great point. I have to cut out entire paragraphs and save them as word documents because they deserve more attention than just a paragraph or a side idea that delutes a blog. I realize a lot in this industry has been talked about, but there are still so many areas that haven’t been talked about. So if anyone has ideas or requests, stick a comment on this post. I will do my best to write and answer it.

Sex Work, Escort Burn-Out and The Economy
As an adult webmistress and sex blogger, I read than most people on the planet in order to keep up on multiple industry segments, look for trends and know what issues are most important to active sex workers.
Right now, the discussion lies on the economy, a softer working market and pricing. Women want to know if other escorts are suffering business slow down and if they should drop their rates in order to make ends meet. But I don’t think this should be the focus, I see an alarming trend that I have found from reading between the lines that girls are living off savings and compromising their values/safety in order to keep their homes, feed their kids or just live.
Here is what I say: STOP. STOP right there.
Creative Marketing
Can You Market Adult Business through Social Media?
Yes, if you do it creatively and with a point.
I have never been afraid to experiment with my adult marketing. Why? Because if it works for me, then it’s a strategy that someone else can leverage and use successfully also. If it fails, honestly, I’ve just saved face and can I can say it was not cost effective or the return on the investment didn’t meet the goals. Marketing successes and failures backed with statistical data are invaluable tools when it comes to online adult marketing strategy when you want to integrate them into mainstream social media outlets like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. If an adult marketer doesn’t know what is acceptable, then they can loose their accounts and valuable mainstream marketing outlets.
Since October 2007, I have been creating online video projects, music videos, soft care foot fetish films and erotic diaries and posting them on social networks. My first one, “She Slips In” was the #17 most distributed video on YouTube within 24 hours of its launch. Out of all the content uploaded and available, it was impressive and amazing. No small coo for start up, frankly low budget project.
Smart Marketing Practices: Information Flow & Research
I’ve worked in the Adult Entertainment Business business for four years now.
I’ve been an escort, a sensual masseuse and a three-film porn star.
I’ve received advice from women who were in this industry before me and I’ve given advice to women who have entered this field after me. There is a constant flow of information that should never be interrupted. That flow of information keeps us safe, it keeps us knowledgeable, it helps us with personal growth and it makes us savvier business women.
It has taken four years for me learn the inns and out of adult entertainment, the do’s and dont’s, to cultivate my skills and find my voice in this industry. And the culmination of all those skills now lies here. Ask any adult entertainer one thing she wishes she had before she started this business and she will say “Knowledge. I wish I had a mentor (a woman) to help me.”
Moving My Marketing Blog to CallieSimms.net
Greetings and Welcome to my new blog web presence. I first, I though I would keep my adult industry blog and marketing writing seperate, well that’s just to time consuming. So I am moving the content here. I huge step for me.
What I write here will be content related to my books and trends in the adult entertainment industry. It is specifically geared towards adult business marketing and development. I believe that adult businesses and their strategies lead mainstream business & their marketing strategy development. And if a mainstream company develops something first, we aren’t afraid to say, “Cool Beans, but I can jack that make it work even better.”Why? Because the Adult industry tends to have more finances allot to experimental production (to see if something will take or not - how do you think such niche markets like BALL BUSTING developed) and the capacity to test things to see if they work or not. The best adult producers shouldn’t be afraid to pioneer new film style and to try something new. Sometimes, you just don’t know what will POP and catch on. Perfect example, my Studio Erotica productions and online videos, the amount of distribution and popularity of my foot fetish movies are just amazing, my largest markets being in England and Tokyo (who knew!?!?). So go ahead and try something new, and hopefully I my work and writing will help you achieve that.
How to Take a Hiatus or Enter an Exclusive Relationship With a Client
A Girl’s Guide to Escorting: Taking a Hiatus or Entering an Exclusive Relationship With a Client
Question: I have been in the sex industry for three years now. I am thinking of being mutually exclusive with one of my clients but I have put a lot of work into my website and marketing. I want to test the arrangement, but if it doesn’t work out, I don’t want to loose all the work? What should I do?
Answer: It’s a great question and it pertains not only to mutually exclusive relationships, but also to sex workers who just need a break to pursue other business, school or personal goals.
Have your Webmaster back up your entire website, save it to a private folder so it can easily be reinstated if you want to come back. Make sure the main page of your site (the INDEX) is still existent.
Photography: You Aren’t Her
More and more ladies in sex work are using stock photos or stealing photos from others in their advertisements .
Why do women not use real photos of themselves? Well, for a variety of reasons.
- Some women have multiple identities, they can wear a wig for one persona and then be themselves, but when it comes to more than one alter, then they have to use photography that is dramatically similar to them.
- The women is running a scam, usually a snatch and grab situation with a pimp. Most often, these are the women who steal your photos.
- They are not confidant enough to show themselves
- They are cheap. There are many providers that have a pretty standard body type for their race and they can get away with stock photos, all they do is crop or blur the face. Often men don’t notice. But if you look closely, you will notice variation in breast size, thighs and but shape. Read the rest of this entry »
Branding, Your Image…and Shoes?
Its Spring, and spring means new photos and scaling up your web presence.
When building your brand name, one of the most important things to consider is IMAGE.
Your image conveyed through the photographs, video and audio on your website directly affects the type of client that you attract.
Before you buy outfits for a shoot, consider what the purpose of the photographs and video are, as these are a working girl’s #1 asset in her business.
You should look at other escort sites, but only for ideas (sometimes ideas of what not to do). And from just a little bit of research, most ladies have photos that look like everyone else’s; poses, lingerie and facial expressions. Do your best NOT to imitate that. Go for creating originality. I know, this seems a bit difficult, but I guarantee you can do it.
