SexWork101.com
I exchanged emails with Audacia Ray this week to coordinate writing blogs for a new endeavor, SexWork101.com. SexWork101.com is a site designed for “civilians” to find out about sex work and lives of the women who are adult entertainers in a non-sensationalized, non-media biased way.
My first post is going to be on “What is a provider?” - I don’t think most people outside of the business know the definition of that term.
They are in need of contributions from others also.
Three Types of Posts/Blogs Needed
1. Posts answering the question “How did you get involved in the adult industry.”
2. Blog posts from a pre-existing blog - excerpted or reposted in full, with link back to original post about your experiences.
3. A description of day in your working life - tagged with time stamps. Example:
-9 am wake up, walk the dog
-10 am eat breakfast while checking and responding to email that came in over night
-10.30 am shower and get made up, prepare to drive to my incall location to meet my 1 pm client
So for any of the ladies that interested, please check SexWork101.com for more information.

I received some an email Saturday from Tara at SWOP regarding Ren and Jill Brenneman debating John Foubert (professor of education at William and Mary college). Foubert is adamantly and publicly opposed the Sex Workers Art Show and believes that viewing pornography increases male sexual violence against women. He also believes that the SWAS is pornography, and thus that having it on campus increases the likelihood of rape for women at this school.
Another panelist, Samantha Berg (genderberg.com), co-founder of the Antiporn Activist Network, is also set to be present at this debate. Berg seems to have coined the term “pornstitution” and “has dedicated herself to educating people about the inherent harms of sexual capitalism.”
Samantha Berg is threatening to boycott the debate if Ren is allowed to present in the discussion. Berg has developed an absurd notion, that Ren wants to cause her physical harm and is threatening her life. The conference organizer has bent over backward in oder for Berg to attend; allowing Berg to have a friend join the panel and to have police protection present.
Question? Why would Berg need protection from Ren? First off, Ren is not a threat for violence. Secondly, Ren is a petite 5′2, 100 lbs, sex-blogger/activist/sex worker. How is she going to physically harm this woman with security and hundreds of people present.
Taking A Moment To Blog
So the site has been up for a week. I have been working on it, as you can see from all the additions and nifty things. I had to stop for just a moment today and let it all sink in. Delving into the world of Sex Writing, Sex Blogging and Adult Marketing is not a light task.
Actually, it’s really fucking overwhelming.
There are absolutely fabulous writers and business women out there and I am so fortunate to have talked to some of them this week. So to all of you - THANK YOU for the links, blogroll, Twitter, MySpace and Facebook adds (sorry, I am drawing the line at Tumblr) and the encouragement, advice and referrals; I am looking forward to connecting with you more in cyberspace. I am excited to bring my insight and opinions in to the arena with such formidable women and men.
First Two Callie Simms eBooks Released
Hey Everyone! After two years, publishing day is here!
Many of you know the original title of the book was COURTESANSHIP: Escorting in the 21st Century. Well, that not what I ended up publishing; I never thought I would scrap an entire book, but I did.
I didn’t ditch the first masterpiece easily, but in the past year, it became evident to me that what I had to say was not an account of my experiences and (mis)adventures as a sex worker or a book on my best sex tips. There are enough books and blogs on those subjects. Courtesanship was more a of an exercise that allowed me to develop the skills and insight needed to prepare me for the awakening I experienced when I turned 27.
In February of 2007, I “woke up” and entered the final phase of becoming the woman I was supposed to be. The process wasn’t easy, I radically changed the way I thought, what my desires and goals where and even the person I was to be the rest of my life. And through soul searching, experimenting with new personas and a brief stint in Las Vegas, I returned to the place that is truly home - Los Angeles and found “me” waiting there.
Though the course of my 2007 experiences, it occurred to me that I should write about what I know most and what I know best. And what I know best is working a sensual masseuse, what I call ” adult marketing with a purpose”, maintaining my physical/mental health as a sex worker and men’s prostates. Yes, you can laugh at the last one, but it’s what I know about and I am going to write about, just from my perspective. Hopefully my insights will help you in the pursuit of a richer, fuller life.
You can purchase the first two books online now on the publications page! Click Here.
